How to troubleshoot DNS with dig and nslookup
To do this, click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then press Enter. At the command prompt, type the following command. Replace example.com with the domain that you want to test: nslookup example.com. To use a specific DNS server for the query, add the server name or IP address to the end of the command.
